Club Description

The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) goal is to serve as a credible and accurate source of information relevant to minority issues in the field of medical education and practice, with a focus on the needs of the LECOM Erie community and the populations it serves. We strive to foster academic excellence, leadership, and cultural awareness while addressing healthcare disparities both locally in Erie and beyond. We aim to encourage and foster the development of minority faculty to increase the presence of minority mentors and biomedical researchers who reflect the diversity of our patient populations. SNMA is committed to evaluating and cultivating the necessary measures to eradicate practices in the field of health profession education that compromise the goal of providing quality education to minorities and women.
